Over the course of three days, 210 national and international exhibitors and more than 4,600 trade visitors engaged in in-depth discussions and professional exchanges.
Current challenges such as increasing regulation, sustainability, and technological development are affecting the surface industry more than ever. In line with the current market situation, DÖRKEN not only showcased its expertise in PFAS-free solutions but also presented several official specification approvals. These include approvals from Volkswagen, Volvo, and Jaguar. Additional sampling for well-known OEMs, particularly in the automotive and wind industries, is currently underway.
“We have held in-depth discussions with many customers and business partners about our PFAS-free coating solutions,” said René Rother, Key Account Manager for Industrial Coatings. “The specification approvals, in particular, demonstrate that our new systems are suitable for industrial use and can compete with standard systems without compromising on quality.”
As part of the trade show, the Fraunhofer IPA also presented the Stuttgart Surface Technology Award “Die Oberfläche 2026” for the 10th time. SLCR Lasertechnik GmbH and Dörken were awarded first prize for their joint development, LAMA. The laser-based system cleans bulk metal parts such as screws, nuts, and clips in a single step, thereby replacing chemical cleaning processes combined with mechanical blasting.
“Surface Technology proved to be another resounding success for DÖRKEN,” sums up Christos Tselebidis, CEO of Industrial Coatings. “We had some very productive and engaging discussions and continue to view Surface Technology as a key industry gathering for surface technology.”
