15.10.2026 Daimler Truck: Coating system from DÖRKEN included in new specification

Given the impending ban on PFAS in coating systems, vehicle manufacturers are updating their requirement profiles—as Daimler Truck is now doing.

A combination of base and topcoats from DÖRKEN has been included in Daimler Truck’s new DBL 3440 specification. Compared to the previous version which is the DBL 9440, this new specification requires PFAS-free coatings. In addition, the approval process has been expanded, and additional assembly and coefficient-of-friction tests have been added to more accurately reflect real-world assembly conditions. While the basic technical requirements remain largely unchanged, the new specification places greater emphasis on practical application.

New to DBL 3440 is the PFAS-free system with the products DÖRKEN® BASE 120 and DELTA-PROTEKT® TC 502 GZ (Silver). With this approval, DÖRKEN once again demonstrates that its portfolio offers suitable alternatives for changing regulatory requirements—while maintaining its high performance.
