Corrosion Tests and Standards

Corrosion tests are accelerated test procedures that determine whether the resistance of corrosion protection coatings is provided and therefore the function of components in corrosive environments is assured.

Depending on industry, country and requirements, different test procedures are applied. For example, a distinction is made between constant (C) and varying (V) test methods according to super ordinated standards (DIN, ISO) or those of the automobile manufacturers.

A detailed tabular listing of the standards and test methods can be downloaded here as a PDF file for both North American and European requirements.
