Adhesion

Adhesion is a surface properties. It describes the energy that is required to loosen a coating from a component.

Enduring protection of the surface – for example in the form of a corrosion protection coat – exists where the paint or varnish film remains firmly adhered or anchored, including under the influence of external factors such as moisture, salt, gases or air.

Relevant adhesion tests:

  • Adhesion test according to DIN EN ISO 10683
  • Cross cut according to  DIN EN ISO 2409
  • Cross cut according to  ASTM 3359
  • Mandrel bend test according to  DIN EN ISO 6860
